Mission
Our name comes not from Madeleine Albright, former UN Ambassador and first female secretary of state, or Horace Albright, early conservationist and former director of the National Parks Service. Rather, it is in reference to Jimmy Albright, the man credited with discovering a unique and quite versatile knot used in fishing, especially fly fishing. Specifically, the Albright Knot while only moderately easy to tie, is one of the most effective knots for connecting lines that are of different diameter, material or test strength. It is preferred for connecting braid to monofilament or wire, as well as connecting different diameter leader materials (for example, joining a 15 lb leader to a 60 lb shock tippet). As an avid fisherman, I saw this knot as a metaphor for Albright Advisory Group’s mission. That is, to connect smaller or lesser known managers with US institutional investors. Albright seeks to make that connection, to be that connection.
